Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi -spoilers start 3
I do think there is a contingency of the fan base that really only has itself to blame as far as the Snoke and Rey theories go. Certainly not everyone, but a lot of people sure worked themselves up into a frenzy about these things and are just being babies because their pet theory wasn't right.
I tend to be more of a "oh, so that's what happened" kind of viewer than a "wait, that's not what should have happened!" kind of viewer.

RJ also said in interviews prior that these reveals are not bombshells

definitely..im in the camp id much rather be totally wrong and shocked than be right. It would have been awesome to have Rey be a skywalker or a kenobi, but what we got is far more real and satisfying as a payoff for us and for reys character. I dont think shes at peace with the answer if it was one, in the cave, but thats all the more interesting and lasting as an answer.

Which I love. Because they aren't. And it hopefully moves the needle a bit for some regarding expectations for Episode 9. Meaning: hopefully people aren't running around for two years trying to guess what the big twist, the "I am your father" moment will be. Hopefully, the masses can get to a place where the movie doesn't need to have a shocking twist or reveal in order to be good.stip wrote:RJ also said in interviews prior that these reveals are not bombshells

I fully believe anyone can be anything. If Obi-Wan Kenobi's parents were street beggars, it wouldn't ruin his story. Same goes for Poe. It's not about that at all with Rey. It's the nine episode saga of the Skywalker family. Now all we have left is the leader of the evil guys, and no explanation for the whole thing with Rey,bune wrote:

I believe Luke will have a bigger role than we think in EP9.
JJ is making the movie.
