It was telling her to take it to Luke, so he could toss it over a cliff.

He's going to do a cut for cut replica of ROTJ. The porgs will be the new ewoks. Rey saves Ren. Luke force ghosts his way around. Phasma comes back from the dead, but falls down a sarlacc pitt.

Who's going to be the new Jabba?

It's not that crazy of a theory really. Something very similar already happened in the old (now defunct) EU. And, as you said, it isn't all that far removed from some of the bonkers shit Rian came up with. Add to that, we know that the original version of TFA script, you know, the one with more of Lucas's involvement, the one everyone loves all of a sudden since dime posted that link because it's WAY better than what we got in TLJ, well, in that script, Luke's severed hand was seen floating through space. So...

Ultimately, I don't think they'll go that route. But it's not completely out of the question.

Yeah, I'd love more info on that stuff, too. But specifically the shot of Kylo and his buddies in the rain. I want to know what that was all about.

I think JJ will make safer and more direct choices than Rian did, for sure. But I do not think he'll do a "soft reboot" Of RotJ either. I really think part of the reason he's coming back is to have a second chance at making "his" Star Wars movie. I think the criticism from fans about TFA got to him to a degree.

I do hope they tighten up the story for episode 9. Less subplots and separation between the characters. Let’s bring them togethe

I think a lot will depend on how much time has passed. Are we picking up right where we left off, TLJ style? Or jumping a couple of years a la RotJ?

He did say he wishes he was directing 8 after reading the script.

Also said he’s going to tie it all up including the prequels so he’s clearly got a vision.
I’d be ok with a hard right turn back into a Star Wars we’re familiar with and he can do that without repeating ROTJ
