A lot of SW fans, including myself, have fed our fix over the years with the shows, books, etc. You would think they would get that and throw someone in if for nothing else than a little shout out to fans. Obviously R1 would have been the easiest place to do it, but they could have in TFA or TLJ as well.

It will only trickle down from the films into the supplemental canon. It won’t flow the other way really. Well Saw was in rogue one I guess.

You’ll see it happen more when the live action series happens maybe
Which is ironic because the really interesting characters are all in the animates series or the books, not in the movies, lol

Yah but come on, you know what I mean. A lot of cool characters not in movies. Plus, R1 is a SW step child in a lot of rube's eyes

I didn’t catch it on my first viewing but totally did and gasped on the second.
I'm reading and hearing a lot of people who didn't even notice that she had the torn-apart light saber on the Falcon, and that was far more obvious than the books in the drawer.

I didn’t notice that either. It’s the exact moment the Radduss hits Snokes ship and breaks it up.
Just thought that caused the explosion
I thought she had two different lightsabers at the end and didn’t catch that it was the Same one

Wait a minute. Just one God damn minute. Why is there fan-fiction in my Star Wars? This thing with Tarkin picking up a random twink (not even random, it's TK 421!) is so weird. And it just keeps going!

For anyone thinking of getting the Art of the Last Jedi book. Be aware. This is much much more a Making the Last Jedi book than an art of book. Sure the art is in there but pretty much the entire majority of the text is on the day to day making of the film. I LOVE Rinzlers making of Star Wars books. I’d call them essentials for any serious fans collections. This book would and should sit happily among them although not as detailed as them. I have to go back and read the TFA art of book to see if it’s done the same way, but I don’t think it is. There’s footnotes in here about the art included but the main body of the text is all about the mechanics of making the film. It’s thrown me a little bit and I now have a feeling we’re never gonna see the making of books for this new trilogy. At least for a long time. But let’s see. Wait for it to pop up on amazon or eBay cheaper. I got mine for £24 new from amazon. But a worthy addition to your collection for sure.

Was totally unaware of this one. Weapon of a Jedi. All about Luke after the battle of Yavin and training himself as a Jedi and finding a Jedi temple. It’s by Jason Fry. Apparently it really captures Luke well and although it’s YA all the other YA books like Lost Stars have been excellent so gonna pick this one up.

Solo: last shot

Yeah don’t bother. It’s fun. I guess. Bit it’s kinda pointless and all over the place in the Wrong way.

It may make sense after we see the film and have some context, no doubt there’s losds of tie in stuff. But not an enjoyable journey at all unless you like reading a book that’s really more like a series of comic runs and irrelevant high jinks.

Not even for $5?

Also: does it make more sense now that you've seen the movie?

So this is the variant cover for the new Thrawn book. Anakin...we know Vader is in it but Anakin? Cool. I’m beginning to think it’s Vader kills Thrawn in the final book. Let’s see.

Wease. Found my final holy grail / white whale online for a reasonable price. This is sposed to be great. And I love Rinzlers making of Star Wars books(thanks to you) If this is anything like as good it’ll be great. There’s a special edition of this that’s over $1000. Id love to know what comes with that one.
You got this? I’m told it’s A huge book
