agreed, wasted opportunity, too.bada wrote:I don't understand why Snoke was CGI. There is nothing about that character design that couldn't have been created more effectively with a human actor in a make up chair. Seems like a waste of money.

For what he had to physically do (almost nothing) I don’t think it matters and the way they went is better. Plus you have JJ to thank for Snoke and his design, not Rian.

Saw this movie tonight. It was not good. Kinda silly, often boring. A couple cool moments. on the record

Out of my second showing
Amazing. Even better this time around. The ridiculous moments or jokes didn’t even feel that ridiculous.
So much good stuff going on that sits wonderfully with ol strat.
Driver is incredible.

I'm happy for you. I saw it a third time and that will be my last for a long time. I came out a little irritated, actually. But won't fully judge this until we see how episode nine plays out.Strat wrote:Out of my second showing

The only things I liked was how it took a massive shit on TFA and JJ Abrams' mystery box bullshit filmmaking , and the god-tier ancap thief guy.
And Mark Hammil was fine.
Why did Snoke look so cool, but Yoda look like Playstation 2 graphics?
I'd give it points for being subversive, but I'm not sure what it was trying to say or do. I still don't know who any of these people are or why I should care.

Yoda was 100% practical and made from the original molds that made the puppet in ESB.
Then they just filtered him in blue. It’s exsctly the same Yoda and Frank Oz did the puppeteering.

While I wouldn’t say it was a crucial element to the story - I found myself enjoying it much more this time.bada wrote:I would like to watch this again but I wanna be able to fast forward past the Finn\Rose\Del Torro stuff.
Also that whole story line felt and looked a lot like something out of attack of the clones.
Also my niece and nephew loved that part with all the creatures and Kids.

I don't agree with all the hate about this movie, but there were definitely times that Yoda looked hinkey.VinylGuy wrote:Yoda looked awesome.

It’s funny how the Yoda puppet from 1980 still looks great, but the newer attempts from 1999 and 2017 look much worse. CGI really destroyed the levels of craftsmanship and artistry we saw go into practical effects in the ‘80s.

Oh yeah...CGI is the worst and of course that craft is kinda lost. I guess its the same with animation. Everything is computer animated and we are losing a perfect art because of that.LoathedVermin72 wrote:It’s funny how the Yoda puppet from 1980 still looks great, but the newer attempts from 1999 and 2017 look much worse.
