I don’t care but I don’t watch movies because I care what characters do so

If you don't care about the characters, why do you watch movies?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I’m only gonna watch this to see what the falcon used to look like and no doubt complain about how they screwed it up.

A whole bunch of different reasons entirely dependent on each individual movie.

This movie will be so much fun to watch, especially knowing that after this movie he goes on to fight a long pointless war that he loses, then get divorced from the love of his life and retreat back to a sad, lonely existence after he raises a genocidal maniac of a son who eventually murders him!

THIS IS WHAT FUN IS ENJOY THE RIDE WEEEEEEEEE

Isn't that the same argument used against the prequels?

No. There were a million arguments against the prequels. That isn't one of them.

No, I'm pretty sure more than one person said, "I don't care about Darth Vader as a kid, and we know he dies so what's the point."

I mean, tons of people said they don't care about what Vader was like as a kid. I've said that. I mean, who gives a shit what Vader was like as a kid? That's insane. What kind of chinless neckbeard would make that movie?

Oh

That has nothing to do with the fact that he dies later though. Never heard anyone say that.
