Is anyone able to rank this yet? My new found love for rogue one has thrown all my rankings into chaos

Right now I've got it in the #4 slot. But I need to see it a few more times before I make a confident ranking.

Same I think. I think in a year or two, possibly after 9, we could see it rise in everyone’s ranksdurdencommatyler wrote:Right now I've got it in the #4 slot. But I need to see it a few more times before I make a confident ranking.

Well sure. You are now. But what happens in ten years when you decide to revisit The Last Jedi and realize it's an amazing movie?LoathedVermin72 wrote:I'm quite confident in my ranking.

What are your rankings LV?
I understand even compiling such a list for Star Wars must be painful for you

LV, I agree with your ranking in general, but why AOTC so high?
The scenes between Anakin and Padme are painful and that last battle scene is one of the worst-choreographed action sequences ever put on film.

Because he can't possibly have a JJ Abrams film above it. And TLJ is too steeped in "new" Star Wars and current 2017 "geek culture" for him to give it any credit or value.run2death wrote:LV, I agree with your ranking in general, but why AOTC so high?

I have no idea why he hates RotS so much, though.

I need to venture out of my personal posts page once in a while. I have visited active topics a few times but been scared back by all the RMing and devs nonsense

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi -spoilers start 3
Those scenes are painful, for sure, but I think the action set-pieces in AOTC far exceed anything in ROTS, which is mostly just an irritating slog for me. I love the aerial speeder chase on Coruscant and the rain-soaked Boba Fett/Obi-Wan fight on Kamino. And, to be honest, I think the action finale is pretty spectacular. Lucas knows how to make large-scale action feel LARGE. The way the dust kicks up and we just see clone troopers blasting lasers through suffocating clouds with barely any visibility...kind of awesome.run2death wrote:LV, I agree with your ranking in general, but why AOTC so high?

It does nothing for me. Too many distant shots that focus on the "set piece" as a whole. Characters get lost it becomes all become too LARGE for me. I don't really feel like I'm "in" the action.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Those scenes are painful, for sure, but I think the action set-pieces in AOTC far exceed anything in ROTS, which is mostly just an irritating slog for me. In a lot of ways that scene, to me, feels like the precursor to your standard Marvel action sequence, which I absolutely loathe.
