You watch these games the same way I do - constant pessimism and lack of support because as soon as you are happy about the game those hopes will be dashed.

You know how threads that have new posts have an arrow and a yellow box next to them? Click the yellow box and it will take you to the first unread post. It even has a tooltip of "View first unread post". It's not 100% but it gets me to where I need to be.

Also: Alabama fans are hilarious.

The one that got me is the comment saying it's obviously a troll. Sure, because trolls have accounts for 29 months.

So Florida's twitter account apparently tweeted out "SEC! SEC!" last night. This has to be one of the dumbest things in sports. Taking claim to the fact that someone in your conference won because you are too shitty to win it yourself. And this is a huge mindset here in the South, but only with SEC fans. Clemson fans aren't running around cheering for Florida State or UNC. And As a Bucs fan, I hope the Falcons and Saints always lose in the playoffs.

I imagine thought that the same people who chant "SEC" when Alabama or Georgia wins and not their team are the same people who thing the south will rise again. I really hate people, man.

I was happy to have two SEC teams in there because it means we get more money. That's about the extent of my conference pride.

i think im finally coming around to this college football thing. Where else can you see such drama? pulling the starting QB for a rookie freshman who hasn't played a game? For him to come in and make those plays? That's unbelievable. he made a couple awful plays but for that to happen and still pull that comeback off? Geezes. That is excitement. The kids are often times so undisciplined that anything can happen from 1) a fight 2) miss an easy field goal 3) major come backs $) countless other things...

I kind of get it. i grew up in Minnesota so the gophers have never really been that exciting and I went to a D3 school that didnt even have a football team. it was always college hockey.

My good buddy is an Aggies fan so i've gotten into them a little bit and have watched the playoffs the past couple of years.

Enjoyment.

The NCAA and the concept of amateurism is a joke, but the games can be so damn entertaining.

The traditions, the mistakes, the variety of styles, the bands/cheerleaders, every game mattering, etc. are just so fun.

Cheers lenny, hope you're enjoying another Patriots Tide natty.

Re: "SEC" chant, got that pisses me off. I don't hear that very often coming from fans from teams in the ACC, Big 10 and 12, PAC, etc... Seems to be an SEC thing and particularly an SEC thing from teams that didn't go to the championship (See the Coots of SCAR). I do however typically root for other ACC teams during the season. Specifically when teams Clemson played play OOC opponents. More often than not, I'll root for the ACC as it helps factor into Clemson's strength of schedule.

Strat, welcome!!! Thrilled to have you on board. The Clemson Tigers are a mighty fine team to watch. They just so happen to play Texas A&M this coming season and next.

Dam straight. For a while the AFC West had the longest Super Bowl appearance drought, and I was all like, "If the Broncos can't get there then I sure as fuck don't want a division rival to get there first!". I don't get the conference bravado in college football either.

Your second sentence is which why, contrary to NCAA and amateurism apologists, college football will still remain a big deal if/when either or both are finally discarded to the trash bin of history.
