I heard someone say to me recently that the story in TLJ should have been TFA.

I find that weird.

Oddly enough, we now know thanks to The Last Jedi visual dictionary that Lucas's original idea was to have Luke in exile and a young female Jedi (then named Kira) go and find him and convince him to come back to save his friends. Ben Solo was also to fall to the Dark Side. This was in his original idea for Episode 7.

Been wondering about this.

The last Jedi makes more sense as a title for the first chapter in the new trilogy
But as a story it makes more sense to start in what we have as 8 too

That makes sense to me. There are things about TFA/TLJ that would probably have been better if they were in the opposite movie.

According to the art of book TLJ is pretty much in line with George’s treatment for episode 7.

There were clear similarities with the training of Rey, and the remote island. However, that could have been handled so much better in the movie. I don't see how anyone could complain about the idea in general. In fact it would probably have been a great start to episode 7 if handled correctly.

It's tough to really evaluate the trilogy as a whole until we get the third one.

Rey is a much less interesting character without her backstory in 7. Ren too, for that matter.

That's not to say you couldn't do it , of course.

My wife was unhappy about the Porg inclusion in so many scenes so I told her about the fact they were basically the crews way of photoshopping the puffins out and she said, "well, at least they have a reason then."

There is precisely one problem I with porg - when they have one pressed up against the window when chewie is doing his fancy flying on crait. That's a little kid laugh line (so in fairness not intended for me) that didn't quite land.

Otherwise I wish we had at least 7-8% more porgs

I agree with the shot you're talking about 100%, however, I disagree what we needed 7-8% more Porg overall. I thought the Porg percentage was perfect. And I'm 96% standing by that.

show her these...the Puffins are fuckin everywhere...they had to do a workaround..you have to watch every step you take incase theyre there, the nest under rocks and steps and have no natural fear of humans so they can be right underfoot, making an already treacherous climb, even more difficult

im watching the half in the bag review on youtube..

how are these guys a thing taken seriously? they even lead with a tweet from Rian replying to someone about them saying 'i like those guys but i fear them' as if that validates everything theyre about to say..

theyre exactly the fat middle aged nerds that will never have sex they havent paid for, socially inept losers that makes up the internet and certainly the worst star wars element, so i'm gonna assume that's their audience...it's beyond lowbrow humour and even worse attempts at criticism..

how are they even a thing?

not just within the context of TLJ but in anything at all..

theyre awful...

I’m guessing it was a negative review?

i cant tell tbh..they seem to be having great fun reviewing it and it's not about that, it's almost unimportant, they seem delighted cos its given them chances to make fart jokes and apply that level of humour to any moment they can from the film..

it's bizarre
