*shrug*
We have different priorities. I spend my money of different things than I used to.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

It was probably uncalled for, but I found the drama a bit overwhelming.

this is correct and too reasonable for this board. bow before B.B wrote:When I consider dropping down to digital I usually look at the value of the items I get.
- digital bootleg: $10
- t-shirt: $20
- vinyl single: $10
I get that for $20. Fine with me. I have a wishlist for membership, and I posted it earlier in this thread, but tossing in an extra $20 for $40 of stuff, most of it limited edition? Fine.

Wait. Why is no one mocking me in this thread? Is RM broken?
Nevermind. I must be misreading sarcasm.

Re: The holiday single thread
I've always thought this too. Some people will go 6-7 years before the band comes nearby. Hell, even in a major area like Seattle, I might see them every 4-5 years. At that point, why not just use the money you used for 10c lottery access to buy a guaranteed ticket -- even a scalped ticket for closer seats.Kevin Davis wrote:The ticket seniority thing is hilarious to me. How many years of membership dues do you have to fork over before the band even comes to your area? For some people I'm guessing it's easily five or six. And then still, you go into a lottery where you might not even get seats to all the shows you want? And then still, you don't actually save any money, you just get first access to pay full price like everyone else? So in order to get halfway decent seats to see the band, instead of just going online and paying a higher price point, you have to repeatedly "invest" in a fan club membership in the hopes that once every few years the band is going to come to your area and a lottery is going to turn in your favor? Is this reasonably accurate?

Re: The holiday single thread
Like Strat said, it's $20 a year. If I use it, great. If not, it's $20. Had great tix when they came to St. Paul in 2006 (row 2 night 1 and row 1 night 2) and 2014 (row 1 next to ga). That'd be worth it to me. But I've also traveled and enjoyed similar seats about a dozen times in milwaukee, chicago, NYC, KC, St. Louis, Thunder Bay, and Alpine. It's been well worth it for me.bodysnatcher wrote:I've always thought this too. Some people will go 6-7 years before the band comes nearby. Re: The holiday single thread
i guess the ticket thing depends on the market too, getting tickets in NYC for example is a bitch, with or without 10c, therefore i could see the $20 or $40 being useless there.

Worth more if you live in the US, because it's cheaper and you have the concert system. Here there are few concerts and they don't normally use the seniority thing. The membership is $50 per year.

It's definitely not worth it for ticketing in Australia. They've only come here twice in the last decade - 2009 was GA stadium shows, 2014 was a festival tour.
