I don't even think the company that made Ripple uses Ripple or ever plans to use Ripple. It's completely useless except to make a lot of money.

i read that 4 percent of all crypto holders own 95 percent of the crypto

so in stock parlance, essentially only 5% of the stock is floated...?

does the quoted price even matter then?

if those 4% step in to the market and begin liquidating their shares, BTC will plummet. just unloading another 5% would double the available shares, which could halve the price.

i certainly hope no banks out there are letting these whales borrow against their BTC

i'd probably give someone a loan of $1 for every $10000 of BTC as collateral based on this volatility

The good news is that bitconnect finally died. Though it did take a lot of people's money with it.

Maybe I've just been insanely lucky (and I certainly have been), but I havent lost any money in this crash. In fact, I'm up a bit. I haven't shorted anything, I've just been trading the volatility all the way down. I keep expecting to get caught with my pants down, but I haven't yet. Have I discovered the secret?

Anyway, it looks like we're near a floor. It's tried to dip below 10k, but gets bought up again. Might touch 7k-8k again but I don't think it will stay there long.

There has been an ongoing controversy around something called Tether for a few months now, many claim its a total fraud. If it really is, then it could seriously crash the market I think.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/somethin ... -to-rumors

Tether is a dollar-backed token that many people and exchanges use to trade, rather than cash, to avoid taxes or having to switch to exchanges like coinbase that can trade USD. But they keep printing millions more Tether, and refuse audits to see if they actually have dollars to back them. Pretty sure its a scam.
