This is like an end scene in a cartoon after a great caper and grandpa makes a joke about it all and the family gathers around laughing and someone says ‘oh grandpaaaa’

The Force Center Podcast discussed a listener question re: the "change" Rian made to accommodate Colin. (For those who don't remember, much in the same way Rian asked JJ to put R2 on Ahch-To instead of BB8, Colin Trevorrow was reported to also have asked Rian to make a change in TLJ to set up something in Ep 9).E.H. Ruddock wrote:Hux and Kylo can't be working together moving forward, can they?
Anyway, they speculated on what that might be. One person thought maybe it was the Jedi books being saved. But someone else speculated that maybe it was letting Hux survive.
There's no way to know if that's what it was, but I think that opens up some fun avenues of speculation.

Sweet. I'm assuming that's just on the book right? The movie isn't out yet is it?

Do the Knights of Ren matter at this point? Even if they are brought in for Episode 9, they'll be as inconsequential as Snoke's guards.dimejinky99 wrote:stip wrote:you already start to see Hux mature now that he knows his position is in jeopardy after Kylo takes over. he will have to find a way to prove useful, but im sure kylo will kill him in episode IXE.H. I can see him really pathetically plotting against kylo and it’ll be exposed quickly and he’ll be taken out.
With luck the Knights of Ren will be back and they’ll be his innermost circle and hands of the king. They won’t be faceless automatons.
We’re gonna find out they’re the other students from the academy (force users too) and they’re doing his bidding and maintaining his grip galaxy wide.
It's like bringing in General Grievous for ROTS. A new villain for the last movie that doesn't really resonant because we're just introduced to him.

Yeah, and dime, why did you say hopefully the Knights of Ren will "be back"? We haven't really seen them fully yet, have we?blueviper wrote:Do the Knights of Ren matter at this point? Wasn't there a picture of Hux driving some kind of luxury speeder in TLJ? I wonder what scene it was deleted from.

We don't know that we've seen them at all. There is the sequence in Rey's Force vision that shows a masked Kylo Ren kill a dude while surrounded by other masked guys. We assume those are the Knights of Ren but we don't actually KNOW that's who they are.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Yeah, and dime, why did you say hopefully the Knights of Ren will "be back"? It’s just the book. A good example of him wildly overthinking and forcing in a lot of high mindedness where it really doesn’t belong but it’s a good listen as usual with him.
