My first movie was Gremlins, I think. I remember hiding several times during the film.durdencommatyler wrote:It was the first movie my parents took me to see in the theater. Except that remastered re-release where they edited out the guns. That was some fucking BULLSHIT.

Coco.
Really really good. Makes you cry at a few places ten immediately makes some weird missteps.
I’d suggest anyone with kids watch this before you let them see it unless you want some difficult questions and or sobbing kids after it.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I think it's a genuinely beautiful and terrifying film. I love it. It might be my favorite Disney animated feature. It seems like something that would be in your wheelhouse but sometimes my gauge is way off when it comes to your tastes. I could see it going either way.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Haven’t seen it since I was a kid. Been meaning to revisit.durdencommatyler wrote:Do you like Pinocchio, Verm? I forget.

My favorite is the One Hundred and One Dalmatians thru Robin Hood run. I could live without the Aristocats but I love the animation style of that era.

It isn’t? I didn’t know that. Now or then. Just remember it’s being dark and scary.
Would like to see it again.

It's a Don Bluth film. He also did All Dogs Go To Heaven and Anastasia and Land Before Time and An American Tale. All great films.dimejinky99 wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:Great movie. Not Disney but great.dimejinky99 wrote:Secret of Nimh

They were all animated about a mile from my house. The building is still there but the studio / company is gone I think
