I like when people talk shit about a movie they clearly didn't really understand.

yeah, but you were already starting a SW discussion. I cant let that happen in this thread. This thread is about excellence. Its about art.

It’s a film with the phrase ‘member berries’ in it.
Hardly high art

I don't mean in the pretentious sense, I mean basic plot mechanics. Dime didn't seem to understand K was a replica from the beginning, which is basic for understanding the movie. That's all I was saying.

I don’t really blame dime for being disinterested to the point of not paying attention, TBH

I did know it just didn’t really interest me. What, a human rights movement for replicants. Woop de doo. Just felt this was one thing among many scattered things it was trying to do. Too scattered.

I get that.

Subtle characters. Competent direction. Solid script. Excellent cinematography. Slow pace. Gorgeous imagery. Wonderful performances. Exploration on genre. Humanity in unexpected places. Good dialogue. Imagination.

This movie is the worst.

I haven't seen this yet. I loved the original, and meant to see this at the cinemas but for various reasons missed it.

Should I bother? Is it worth hiring via Google Play for $6? Is there a dialogue that gets removed in the Director's Cut? Do we get to see more replicant boobs?

It’s robotic. And cold. And heartless.

Maybe that’s the point. But I need a relatable likeable or detestable main character at the very least to take you in and along. If K is meant to be that, he isn’t. Even his journey isn’t really mapped out. You don’t care enough about him even if you’re sure what he’s trying to do. Which I wasn’t.

What about my most important questions? Is it worth $6, and replicant boobs?

That was my point though. It’s very much a on inverse of what I want and expect from a film which is usually to take you along with it. This film is the opposite of that. You’re watching events unfold from a cold remove with nobody as your avatar or point of focus.
I’m sure that’s part of its *beauty and it is beautiful. It just had no heart for me because of it

There is nudity but it's not really sexy nudity for the most part. It's definitely worth seeing.

Intriguing. OK, I'll give it a go.
