GrimmaceXX and pearljamminagain will never be forgotten for their unwavering yet wholly incorrect certainty of what was going to happen in sports.
Grimmace organized a pre-party before a show in Boston proper many years ago at a bar. They played a PJ DVD. And a lot of RMers were there. Sunny, Stip maybe, too? Well organized.
so i looked back at the thread and realized how many people used to post in the sports forum on a regular basis. there were a lot of pretty cool guys on the old board that disappeared over the years.
That's like every forum man.

and then they pop back up out of no where when something happens, like oh, I don't know, T.O.
of course someone had to put a mic in his face now that Philly finally made it back to the S.B. and of course he has to trash talk McNabb. Good to see his EGO is still going strong.

man, I miss a lot of those people too. Back in the day when we had best QB debates. When Clubber liked to discuss the Gambling angles.

Now apparently Oprah is in charge of QB salaries. You get 25 million a year and YOU get 25 million a year....

Anyone remember when I created the Boston vs. Philly shit talk thread to divert it away from other threads (and also to egg on the participants a little within there)? Things are a lot more tame today even with a Pats/Eagles Super Bowl looming again.

Agreed, there was a nice, robust group of people back then.

Good to see stated in that archived thread that I logged on to RM for my whipping after the Pats choked against the Giants. A few others did, too. :)

I could be wrong about this, but I thought the most crow you had to eat was when the Jets upset the Patriots in the playoffs.

That one hurt; I can't recall if I was overconfident. I was def way too overconfident in the almost undefeated season.

I don't blame Patriots fans for being overconfident in 2007, they had plenty of reasons to be so.

I had to look up which year the Jets loss was and that was 2010. On the one hand, the Patriots went 14-2, including blowing out the Jets at home 45-3(!). They also defeated the eventual Super Bowl champion Packers. But on the other hand, one of their two regular season losses was at the Jets (the other was 34-14 against the...Browns????) I guess that's enough to exercise some caution, but not a lot.

My excitement for the Super Bowl has suddenly vanished. Is it baseball season yet? GO BREWERS!

Seriously, I love the Eagles but GO BREWERS!

yeah, after reading that thread I couldn’t help but be a little turned off about how openly antagonistic I was. I mean, sure, everyone deserved his comeuppance, but Christ I was laying it on thick.
