Just finished the Nazi episode of The Crown. Very interesting bit of history there, makes me want to read a book about Edward.

Or at least a Wikipedia article.

That was a shocker. Those pictures of the real him at the end with the Nazi high command and Hitler. Jesus. Knew the royals were closely related to certain Germans but that was next level

Will probably watch the Crown soon too. Watching Rebels now, and have been checking up on Suits a bit here and there lately.

I know one of the actors in Vikings this season, which is strange, since I've been watching that show for a few years.

I wasn't ever able to get into this show. I tried for five or six episodes but just couldn't do it.

Same, though I watched the first two seasons with my wife. It seemed like I watched it out of obligation if anything.

My wife really disliked it from the go. She tried one more episode with me and then bailed entirely. I kept with it because sometimes shows need a few episodes to breathe and get their footing. But after five episodes I just wasn't interested in seeing if it ever got there. Just wasn't anything to pull me in. I love Mindy's writing but I'm not a huge fan of her acting work. She's a decent side-man but I'm not sure has enough to carry the thing herself, y'know? At least, in my opinion. Obviously, a lot o people really loved The Mindy Project and her work in it specifically.

I get that it's not for everyone. It just seems to fit well with where I am in the world. I love the absence of pretension in the show. It's funny people rolling through the absurdity of relatable life experiences, something that feels lost in our 'the personal is political' climate. It's refreshing. And yeah, her writing is awesome.

Hey, man, I hear you. I think it's great that you can take joy from the show. I wish I got out of it what you get out of it. Because I totally agree with everything else in your post. Maybe I'll revisit someday and it'll click for me.

It was also strange that those are the very pictures used in the Wikipedia article.

I had to stop with Suits. His asshole best friend, his stupid "secret" that everyone knows. Ugh.

Vikings lost me with the focus on the sons.

They picked the wrong son frankly. I'd be way more into Bjorn's travels.

I agree. The actor playing Bjorn is better, too. That other kid annoys me.

Suits is a bit hit and miss. I swallowed the two first seasons whole when they were new, but really struggled with season three. On season four now. It's light entertainment, but I do wish it was better.

Vikings have had some great episodes and stories. I too found the last season a bit varied, but have not started the current one yet.

I am currently watching The Bridge (Broen), a Danish and Swedish crime show. The fourth season has just been released. I have never seen it before, which is rare here. It made a big splash in Scandinavia in 2011. Very good first season so far.

They did an American version of this that was excellent. Only lasted a couple of seasons though.
