I didn't post in the Sports forum between January 13th, 2008 and April 2, 2008. It took a while to get over that one.

I think (hope) I came by fairly promptly after Super Bowl XLVIII. I wasn't underestimating the Seahawks, and it helps that either them or the Niners are at the top of my NFC pecking order.

I did make a fairly smug, alcohol induced post after Super Bowl 50 was over, though.

Eagles should have a good home field advantage crowd wise; I have to imagine that more from Philly will travel vs. NE, given the gap between SB appearances for the Eagles. I also can't imagine anyone outside of NE rooting for the Pats.

I could see either team getting out to a big lead, but think it still comes down to a few plays in the 4th.

I've been reading a lot of comments from Vikings fans, who, are very upset at the way the Eagles fans treated them. Yes, they are upset at how they were treated wearing their Vikings gear into the Linc. So Vikings fans are all up in arms and I doubt any of them will be cheering for the Eagles. Of course, anyone with half a brain knows you do not wear any opposing team colors into any Philly sports arena and not expect 1000000 "fuck yous" and a few batteries thrown your way. (note I'm in no way supporting Phillys horrible fan behavior, but, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BY NOW PHILLY IS THE WORST! and not the city of "Brotherly Love")

2007 is the strangest thing because the ending is my worst sports moment ever, but that season was SO fun before the Super Bowl.

I'm rooting for the Eagles but only because Doug Peterson is a former Chiefs coach. But there's no way the Eagles win this. My hope is that it's more dramatic and closer than the previous Super Bowl, though. I just want a real game. *fingers crossed*

More dramatic than the previous SB? You mean the greatest comeback win in postseason history wasn’t dramatic enough for ya? Lol

I’m guessing your actually referring to the previous Pats/Eagles SB though.

13 of the past 14 Super Bowls have been decided by 14 points or less.

I don't like what the one exception to that 14 is.

Wanted to resurrect this post from last year, as it totally came into play against the Falcons and could be worth watching this year: http://forums.theskyiscrape.com/viewtop ... 72#p879372

Added last year's SB to the numbers...

The scores after the first quarter for Belichick SBs have been:

3-0
0-0
0-0
3-0
9-0
0-0
0-0

The 2nd quarter might be the one to pay attention to, as it's where the Patriots tend to score in bunches in these games. The 4th quarter is also worth watching (duh) because in BB coached SBs it's been absolute chaos. Total points by Patriots and (Opponents) and [Total] by quarter in B/B SBs:

1 - 0 (15) [15]]
2 - 69 (52) [121]
3 - 23 (30) [53]
4 - 71 (60) [131]
OT - 6 (0) [6]

Patriots under BB have played in 7 Super Bowls and have scored 0 points in the first quarter. Four of those SBs have been 0-0 after the 1st (Pats are 1-2 when letting their opponent score in the 1st). Weird and wild stuff.

wow, in that thread I predicted a 31-28 outcome, Pats over ATL, and the final score was 34-28.
I shouldah bet the game.
