As much as I love the self-titled record (and I fucking LOVE it)... sandwiched between Strange Mercy and Masseduction, it has the feel of a compilation or best of album. I don't mean that as a knock per se, but it's so much less cohesive than the work immediately before and after. Weird. I don't think I noticed that until tonight.

Like, I respect that many fans don't think of Love This Giant as a "proper" St. Vincent record. I do. I get it. But FUCk it's good. Whatever you want to call it, I call it gripping, fun and welcome.

I think this might be my favorite record of hers at this point, most of the songs are excellent, the first 6 on my ranking are amongst my favorite things she's ever done. I really dislike Young Lover though.
