the falcon stuff looks awesome (I love the shot of it clipping the tie fighter at the end). I go back and forth on whether or not I buy Alden as Han Solo. Hard to tell in these little clips. He's got the chip on his shoulder, and the extra bit of cockiness that would come from someone younger who thinks they need to prove themselves (and I assume the dialogue is on point since it was written by Kasden). But I'm not fully in. It may just be the different voice, which can't be helped.

Is that Maz without her glasses as part of the crew?

Yeah he’s going to take some getting used to but if the story is on point like we know the visuals will be, him as han won’t stand out as much and hopefully we’ll get swept along.

That maz looking alien is a cgi played by an actress whose name escapes me but not maz no.

Overall take away from that is meh.
Hopefully will be pleasantly surprised in May. Not feeling it from that trailer at all.

It’s visually stylistic up the ying yang. Just hope there’s substance to back it up.

Just remembered the DP from Arrival did it so it’ll be beautiful to look at no matter what.

Wow, this looks great. Not at all what I expected. Ehrenreich looks pretty perfect.

It does look good and i like the tone of it. But...its distracting to barely see Solo here.

Ultimately, this movie is going ride or die by the portrayal of Solo. If he's likable and charismatic enough, it will work.

Trailers won't be enough to convince us either way.

Still, I really dig the visual look of the film from what we've seen.

Still skeptical but know I will absolutely watch it within a week of it's release. I'm sure it will be visually stunning and the Falcon stuff will get me but it's very hard re-casting/imagining an iconic role.

This looks amazing. Only thing that was a bit jarring was that guy as Solo. Hopefully he can pull it off.

thats a big ‘only thing’. MD is right - this will likely live or die on his performance. its doubly tricky because he needs to channel an iconic performance that we will expect to see reproduced while at the same time he isnt a fully formed han solo, so the direct comparison shouldnt be the standard we use.

thats a heavy lift that will require a lot of precision. i can understand why the actor was uneasy with an improvisational directorial style
