Then we have to drop Karma Debt!
I've got Karma Debt later on a mix i made for my mom and it really works. What's the tracklist as it stands now?
I'll see what I can do.
I believe in you, Peter. Just remember that every little thing, when it falls, it falls in its right place. :heartbeat:

'What We Lose in the Fire...' was beautiful and I thought several parts were amazing. I'm sure I will grow to love it. My only hesitation is that there is more of the 50s / Motown / 'catchy pop' side to this first album, which isn't as much my thing, and that I felt was tempered by the dark electro elements and the more political lyrics of Generals. But still, there are other things to draw me to this one, so of course I'll let it grow and it'll grow. Would you say there was a thematic / lyrical unity to the first one, like there is the second? Generals is charged with calls to the revolution and identity politics and self-actualisation and stuff.

There's definitely thematic unity to both of them, but they're very different albums. Ones a breakup album while the other is a protest record. Stylistically they're very different as well. Like you said, there's a motown vibe to the first album with a dark elctro vibe to the second.

It's hard for me to cite one as my favorite.
Spoiler: show
Put a gun to my head and I'll probably say the first album.

The protest / revolution album, with all of the emotion that entails, has arrived into my life at exactly the right time. MTTS is incredible, lyrically and emotionally. The pen as a weapon, sits right in that context. A love song to the beaten and victimised. Wow. And then Body Of Work is just this triumphant and defiant fuck you to the leaders who try to take away your dignity and write your story for you.

01 - Band Intro (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
02 - What We Gained In The Fire (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
03 - Let The Record Go (9-1-2010 Daytrotter Session)
04 - This Will Be Our Year (All I Want is Truth 7")
05 - Lemon Tree (9-1-2010 Daytrotter Session)
06 - Give It Time (9-1-2010 Daytrotter Session)
07 - Body of Work (9-13-2012 Daytrotter Session)
08 - We Made A Mountain (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
09 - Karma Debt (9-13-2012 Daytrotter Session)
10 -
11 - Disaster (9-1-2010 Daytrotter Session)
12 - Generals (9-13-2012 Daytrotter Session)
13 - Fallen Doves (Generals 7")
14 - In the Mouths of Wolves (Body of Work 7")
15 - Right Place (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
16 - Ways Of Looking (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
17 - All I Want is Truth (for Christmas) (All I Want is Truth 7")

Track 10 will be the KEXP version of Mightier Than The Sword but Microsoft makes it very hard to rip streaming windows media player audio. So I'm gonna go to work and play it through the audio console and just record it that way. It'll technically be a transcode but it'll have to do.

I'm so excited about this. My MP3 player has run out of room but I'm currently thinking of the music I will take off to make room for this.

I've already heard all of this... and have most of it (except the HearYa Sessions) on my iPod. And I'm STILL over the moon excited for this!

Generals is like a gift to me in terms of its lyrical content. There literally could not be a more emotionally potent set of songs than these right now.

There's just so much, in terms of the UK government and the shitstorm they've made of my life, and the protest projects I've been involved in and conversations I've had. It just feels like those songs were written for me.

13 - Fallen Doves (Generals 7")
14 - In the Mouths of Wolves (Body of Work 7")
15 - Right Place (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
16 - Ways Of Looking (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
17 - All I Want is Truth (for Christmas) (All I Want is Truth 7")

All files 320kb/s MP3.
Only a few of these tracks were available in lossless so I just converted those to mp3 for continuitiy.
*Wasn't able to rip the source WMA file streaming online so I ran it through an audio console and recorded into Adobe Audition saved as 320kbs MP3. Technically a transcode but deal with it.
