The protest / revolution album, with all of the emotion that entails, has arrived into my life at exactly the right time. MTTS is incredible, lyrically and emotionally. The pen as a weapon, sits right in that context. A love song to the beaten and victimised. Wow. And then Body Of Work is just this triumphant and defiant fuck you to the leaders who try to take away your dignity and write your story for you.cutuphalfdead wrote:There's definitely thematic unity to both of them, but they're very different albums. Ones a breakup album while the other is a protest record. Stylistically they're very different as well. Like you said, there's a motown vibe to the first album with a dark elctro vibe to the second.
