Pretty much all of the toy story films are super dark and depressing to me. Luckily the movies are couched in a cartoon aesthetic so we can view them as lighthearted and shit.

The second one is even better! We're talking, like, the greatest meet-cute in the history of cinema.VinylGuy wrote:The first one was one of the worst pieces of shit i saw in a long time.BurtReynolds wrote:that's so durdendurdencommatyler wrote:A Bad Moms Christmas is so goddamn great. I can't even.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Lots of movies are directed by men, TVG. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.VinylGuy wrote:I felt bad just watching the trailer Joe....Both of them are directed by men did you knew? and TWO of them.durdencommatyler wrote:The second one is even better! You can make anything a thing if you believe in it strongly enough.durdencommatyler wrote:I would love to make this a thing. Can this be a thing?theplatypus wrote:It's called the I Can't Even Cinematic Universe

Re: What movies are you watching?
I have a hard time with old-timey moves sometimes. It must have something to do with what I like to get out of films that I will often shut off movies made before, say, 1960 if they don't grab me almost immediately. For example, I only made it like 20 minutes into The Hidden Fortress before I decided it wasn't for me (this isn't universal, though--I liked Citizen Kane and Rashomon, for example). This is all the preface for saying: I watched Treasure of the Sierra Madres this week and really enjoyed most of it. There's something about its speed and pacing that lags behind what I usually like in a movie, but I liked all the performances and the bend of the story.

Re: What movies are you watching?
The Shape Of Water.
Well, it was ok...i mean, its a nice stylish fairytale. Another one from Del Toro. The script is merely ok, full with weird moments and lots of stupid choices ( she was alone with the monster without anyone noticing?) and with the most black and white characters i saw in a long time...i mean Octavia Spence´s character is such a cliché is almost offensive.
