I think so far, they've tried to keep them in real-time with the exception of CA:TFA and Agent Carter.

I’ve seen most of the movies, but will give the series a try now. I will start with Shield seasons 1-2 and Jessica Jones s1, already seen a few episodes. Did Daredevil s1 a year ago.

the podcast Weird Heat had an interesting episode on nostalgia. They note that it's hard to be nostalgic for something when you get a brand new one every five months.
