I still haven't seen Hail Caesar. True Grit was solid but I definitely like Llewyn Davis more.

How have YOU never seen American Graffiti?!?

True story: I don't know anyone in real life who HAS seen American Graffiti.

I'm actually starting to think it doesn't exist (that's not real talk, that's a dumb joke).

I think I might watch it again today. I know they are remaking it but no way that movie gets made today as is.

I watched Big Trouble In Little China probably twenty times in the late 80s up until the early 90s. That and Better Off Dead were my go to movies. Great fun both of them, not better than Soundgarden though. ;)

A few months ago I would have laughed at the notion since The Rock's been attached to so many projects but Rampage seems to be coming out and I though that was even further from the realm of possibility.

When William Fichtner says to Liv Tyler in Armageddon "permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I know", that is one of the best pieces of acting in a movie ever. Fichtner is a God.

It is a bit shocking. I have two pals that say it’s their favourite movie of all time but I think they’re being a bit pretentious. No desire to see it tbh.

That’s a bit strange. Says a lot about the young talent that was George Lucas, and why Harrison Ford became Han Solo.

Yep

Not to mention pre-Happy Days Ronnie Howard. And Cindy Williams. Hell, Richard Dreyfuss and even Mackenzie Phillips are in it.

It’s a pretty good movie.

Do you think the film works on its own merits or do you have to be a 1950's fetishist and/or be prone to bouts of nostalgia to really appreciate the movie.

I'm neither a Lucas fanboy or especially into the 50s, and I enjoyed the movie. It's not one of those movies with big cliffhangers, murders, and crazy stuff happening. It's just one night in 1962. Has a great mood to it.
