12 - Generals (9-13-2012 Daytrotter Session)
13 - Fallen Doves (Generals 7")
14 - In the Mouths of Wolves (Body of Work 7")
15 - Right Place (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
16 - Ways Of Looking (11-4-2010 HearYa Session)
17 - All I Want is Truth (for Christmas) (All I Want is Truth 7")

All files 320kb/s MP3.
Only a few of these tracks were available in lossless so I just converted those to mp3 for continuitiy.
*Wasn't able to rip the source WMA file streaming online so I ran it through an audio console and recorded into Adobe Audition saved as 320kbs MP3. Technically a transcode but deal with it.

I don't understand the above paragraph but I thank you for the mix, which I have just downloaded.

My top five songs by them are probably (in no particular order):

Wolf Mother
Buffalo Flower
Right Place
Good Heart
Give It Time

Soulful. Laura has a unique, sexy voice and a keen insight. She destroys me. I have a huge crush on this woman. She's a tremendous talent.

Her lyrics tend to be simple and straightforward, but arrow sharp and assassin accurate. The first album is round and leans toward heartbreak. But the songs usually have a lot of hope or an effort toward reconciliation and repair. And you'll find traces of Motown sprinkled throughout. Some real groovy beats. Laura and Co like to dance, so you'll get a lot of rhythm and uptempo stuff. But don't let that detract from the whispers. There's no one like her in the quiet.

Also, Leonard Cohn is a huge inspiration for Laura (the founder, singer, keys player and songwriter). They also do a lot of covers of 50s/60s groups like The Zombies and Peter Paul & Mary.

Of course the above description really means more to their first album. Their second one, while maintaining all of the things I love about the first album and Laura's talents, expands on her toolbox and is really more of a dance revolution album. It's protest songs but their are also love songs.

"A revolution without dancing is not a revolution worth having" - Emma Goldman. This is a quote Laura uses frequently when discussing their second album, Generals.

I made it halfway through the first album and like what I hear so far. Kinda Fiona Apple meets Leonard Cohen

I like the slightly more political edge to the second album, but that's just where I am at the moment. They're obviously awesome in every way.

you should tell your local library to buy my book and then read it, Harmless. It'll give you something to do while LB information leaks out.

Link? It sounded interesting. I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if my library could source it?
