Why would anyone want to live in a hellscape that necessitates arming teachers

What if it works and reduces school shootings? Would that be an acceptable trade off? What if it has no impact, but the mere concession allows popular gun reform to get pass that does have an effect? Would it be worth it then?

I'm assuming you're like me and that you don't live in an area with a high number of people carrying concealed weapons. So my bias is to imagine this scenario as odd, or as you say, a hellscape, but it's probably more likely than it's perfectly normal to the people that live in these areas. We already have kids practicing lockdown drills, is an armed teacher with the proper training really that much worse?

I grew up in the Midwest. I live in Colorado. I have been around guns my whole life. Arming teachers is fucked up and ignores the root of our country’s gun problem. The NRA-backed GOP and ineffectual Dems are absolutely stopping the measures that need to happen.

So you would make no concessions and change nothing about the left's approach to dealing with this issue, even if, as the link I posted alluded to, it becomes counter productive? Is there a different restriction you would concede if it meant getting change that you want?
If the NRA ever stops blocking funding to gun research and the CDC presents evidence that loosening restrictions on gun free zones reduces shootings, would you change your stance?
I just want to state that I have no idea what the answer is, I just know that what we're doing is not working.

I think its around 60% are suicide?

That's the funny part, school shootings are only 1% of all mass shootings in America. Majority of mass shootings are at work places. So we could turn schools into the most secure facility in the world, and its only going to take off a small percentage of gun deaths. But dead kids on the news is way more riveting than Bob and Jim on the floor of some office building after Jerry decided to go on a rampage because he didn't get his raise.

Course there are neighborhoods in America that are probably worse than some war zones.

But if these kids run for local office and then become the leaders of tomorrow and then can affect real change by the time they have a majority power...

Its kinda what led to Ruby Ridge. In that case it was shotguns with barrels cut down just shy of the legal limit. He won't get a visit from the ATF for the same reason the DC? New York? police didn't visit the reporter that brought a 30 round magazine into the city for a 60 minutes or whatever.

The language is sufficiently vague as to possibly prohibit any after market modification (springs, bolt carrier, etc.). I look forward to being a felon because of slightly lighter trigger pull.
