Yellow Ledbetter

- Gorge 2006-07-23
- Oslo 2014-06-29

Ended up turning into:

- Hamburg 2000-06-26 :?:

YL must've been a tough one as it varies so much with Ed and Mike both winging it each time, just interested as to why Hamburg got the nod.
I wasn't happy with any on the shortlist so started listening to other versions from each year and decided it sounded best on the 2000 tour.

I could have ended up using any number of versions from that year, but the Hamburg one had relatively standardised lyrics, a great vibe, no flubs, and a nice outro. It was the version chosen for the Touring Band 2000 DVD extras, and this is a rare example of them choosing well (it was also remixed for the DVD so this is a rare chance to hear Jeff on the European tour )

Saratoga 2000 had Nobody’s Fault But Mine attached to the end of Yellow Ledbetter and I always enjoyed that.

I like that the selection of tracks from Ten and Vs didn't include tags of covers on Daughter and Yellow Ledbetter.

Would like to see that continue with Betterman please.

Definitely a good argument for that. Note that Porch and Rats both contained tags, but that was unavoidable due to the lack of similar quality versions without them.

I was thinking of perhaps including faded-in versions of common tags on the covers disc, to include It's Okay, SIFL (there's a near full version after Better Man finished from Chicago 2006 I believe), etc.

I'd settle for Romanza w/o SIFL.

Do any of the proposed versions of Immortality have that beautiful little intro that Ed sometimes plays?

Big fan of that.

SiFL is basically the latter third of Betterman. I hope it is included.

Better Man from MSG 5/21/10. I thought this was just an unbelievable performance of the song.

This. I have always enjoyed this version.

Immortality from Benaroya Hall gets my vote.

Not For You from Soldier Field is classic. Also great MSG 5/21/10 but has the Modern Girl tag.

I somehow remember Tremor Christ being really great during the ‘96 tour.

I think they played Satan’s Bed in Albany in ‘06 as I seem to remember that as a highlight.

Melbourne 95 or 98 have to be contenders? I'll listen to this later and make a further judgement.

The washington version is spectacular. When Eddie sings the first line as per the recorded version its a winner.
