None of us like it when our stocks have bumps.

The language is sufficiently vague as to possibly prohibit any after market modification (springs, bolt carrier, etc.). I look forward to being a felon because of slightly lighter trigger pull.

When explaining the inscrutable vagueness and complexity of California law, my own father responded to me, "at least they're doing something". Making felons of otherwise law abiding citizens and potentially ruining lives with no upside is... something, I guess. Its just not a constructive something.

Actually respond to well documented, specific threats (ie the Florida shooter). Prosecute straw purchasers (those that buy guns with the intent to immediately give them to someone else). Prosecute those who attempt to purchase a firearm when knowingly ineligible to do so. This would be a something that might actually make a difference, if a modest one.

Its kinda what led to Ruby Ridge. In that case it was shotguns with barrels cut down just shy of the legal limit. He won't get a visit from the ATF for the same reason the DC? New York? police didn't visit the reporter that brought a 30 round magazine into the city for a 60 minutes or whatever.

Apparently the legal decommissioning of a firearm has some specific requirements, and a band-saw (or whatever) through the receiver is not up to snuff.
