I honestly couldn’t even tell you yet. I’ve only been drinking sours for about a year or so and only the last six month of that have been steady. There’s a couple breweries in town that make some great sours that get consistently high marks from reviews and that I love. That’s my main way of consuming sours, at breweries. I’ve bought a bunch of canned/bottled stuff too, a lot that I’ve thought were great, but 8m still seeking variety at this point.Chris_H_2 wrote:what are your top 5?PHATJ wrote:I’m so in love with sours it’s sickening.

ever thought about getting into the trading game? there are some absolutely out-of-this-world sours that you could trade for with your collection. breweries like degarde, rare barrel, casey, sante adairius, side project, jester king, and hill farmstead put out some of the country's best.PHATJ wrote:I honestly couldn’t even tell you yet. I have done some trading, but only in person and not through mail. There is a great beer group or two on Facebook that I’m involved with that connects me with a lot of traders. The group I’m most active in has over 12,000 members, and the other has nearly 8,000. Trading often just feels like a hassle, although when I have made trades I’ve been very satisfied with the results. I would love to get my hands on some Hill Farmstead, Rare Barrel, and Side Project.Chris_H_2 wrote:ever thought about getting into the trading game? there are some absolutely out-of-this-world sours that you could trade for with your collection. breweries like degarde, rare barrel, casey, sante adairius, side project, jester king, and hill farmstead put out some of the country's best.PHATJ wrote:I honestly couldn’t even tell you yet. Actually, Fair State’s Roselle was one of the first sours I ever had. I think the only one I’d previously had was Pentegram by Surly... and maybe Lucy by Indeed.PHATJ wrote:Yep. Ah shit, shoulda scrolled up a little more. Yeah I like Fairstate. Last time I was there was a little fuzzy since it was the last stop in a crawl that started with Fulton, Tin Whiskers, and Surly.PHATJ wrote:Actually, Fair State’s Roselle was one of the first sours I ever had. Surly is obviously fantastic, world class really. I really love Fulton too. Their stouts and Barleywine are very good. I haven’t been to Tin Whiskers yet, but I’ve enjoyed the couple beers of theirs I’ve had. And obviously I’m a Fair State fan. I’d gladly go on that crawl anytime! Right now I’m most impressed with what Barrel Theory is doing with sours. They’ve got several on tap now and every one of them is great. They’ve also got 3 or 4 NE IPAs right now too. All hazy and juicy as hell. I highly recommend checking it out when you get back to St. Paul.guestT wrote:Ah shit, shoulda scrolled up a little more. Yeah I like Fairstate.
