Re: 2018 NFL Season
Fitz and Cousins apparently had a "chance meeting" at an airport a couple of weeks ago and have become fast friends.
Don't discount the Cards chances. Fitz is the most likeable person on the planet.

Re: 2018 NFL Season
I personally want Cousins to go to the Cards. I'd love to see that happen. But it seems like all the reporting I'm seeing has it down to Vikes and Jets. I hope you're right though and the Cards can sneak in there and steal him.run2death wrote:Fitz and Cousins apparently had a "chance meeting" at an airport a couple of weeks ago and have become fast friends.

wherever he goes, they are going to be psyched for their 8-8 season and near wild card berth miss

Re: 2018 NFL Season
If he ends up in MN I think he’ll fare better than that simply because the team around him is so strong. That said, I’m still skeptical about how much better he is than the Vikings “in house” options.96583UP wrote:wherever he goes, they are going to be psyched for their 8-8 season and near wild card berth miss

Re: 2018 NFL Season
agree about the in-house options, although Case Keenum is def not worth the franchise tag
If the Vikes think QB is what will put them over the top, they'd be better off trading picks for Nick Foles IMO than spending $30 MM on Cousins
Cousins is not clutch. and his numbers are only relevant to fantasy football. he got propped up by Jay Gruden and Sean McVay's offense and throwing 80 times a game to Jordan Reed, Pierre Garcon, and DeSean Jackson for a couple of years
he became inept in the red zone after jordan reed got injured
the guy's primetime record is dismal
for $30 MM you want a guy that can carry the team to a win regardless of the team behind him
Cousins is not that guy
Garappolo is probably a better buy because at least he knows how to bury it balls deep
they say Nick Foles has a d*ck like a belgian plowhorse but he is too jesusy it doesn't even matter
you pay $30 MM for that
no one is talking about Cousins' d*ck

Re: 2018 NFL Season
I don't think Cousins is a great QB, but he is a perfect fit for the Cards current roster. I mean PERFECT.
If he does go to the Cards, it'll be interesting to see how fans will react to what'll probably turn into a "dink and dunk" offense after years of "no risk it, no biscuit."

I’m not gonna disagree, especially about the big swinging dick part.96583UP wrote:agree about the in-house options, although Case Keenum is def not worth the franchise tag

Re: 2018 NFL Season
as an Eagles fan, I can totally see Foles still being on the Eagles next year. The problem of course, is if Wentz does not come back and play LIGHTS OUT (or at least as good as he was playing before getting hurt) you know that city will turn on him faster than they turned on ol Saint Nick. I know it, you know it, all of Philly knows it. So in that way it makes sense to move Foles to eliminate any potential controversy at all. I'd take Foles over Cousins anyday. But I also think with both those QB's they need the right offense around them. Foles does not make average WR's great, he just plays great in a system that's designed around his strengths.
I'd never pay Cousins the money theyre talking about though. He hasn't proven hes a winner, he just puts up good fantasy stats.

Re: 2018 NFL Season
This guy (Dorian O'Daniel) is gonna make some NFL happy.

I think he is projected mid rounds, but he's a freak. He's basically a Safety with a LB body, plus he's a Special Teams ace. I think a smart defensive minded team will get him, and he'll have a long NFL career.

Just pack up the truck and send him down 85 like they did with Beasley and Jarrett.

Re: 2018 NFL Season
Fitz is incredibly likeable, but how long does he plan to play? Another year? Maybe two? That’s not enough to get Cousins to sign a long term deal.run2death wrote:Fitz and Cousins apparently had a "chance meeting" at an airport a couple of weeks ago and have become fast friends.

As of this afternoon, the Twin Cities Media is reporting that it is down to the Vikes and Jets now. They are also reporting that the Broncos have acknowledged that they’re out on Cousins and that Keemun is their new top target. All signs point to Cousins on the Vikes at this point. It’s really just going to come down to if he wants the couple mil a year more that the Jets will likely offer or the better chance at winning.

Re: 2018 NFL Season
i hope for his own sake he chooses the Vikes
MN region waaaay closer to his Michiganian values
Jets fans will absolutely gang rape him if/when they give him $30 MM + and he starts throwing INTs and checking down

"Midwestern Values"
You mean the kind of values that swung the election for Trump?

LOL. You can have him.
No way Steve Keim is stupid enough to pay Cousins that much.
