Kind of like an Assassin's Creed game that's actually fun mixed with an FPS and GTA.CopperTom wrote:Is there a more comparable game so I know what to expect?Monkey_Driven wrote:Sort of? Yeah, basic collect and craft. Nothing too advanced. Hunting and foraging are pretty easy and fun.CopperTom wrote:Is there a crafting element too?Monkey_Driven wrote:Kind of like an Assassin's Creed game that's actually fun mixed with an FPS and GTA.CopperTom wrote:Is there a more comparable game so I know what to expect?Monkey_Driven wrote:Sort of? It's an open world shooter basically. For me, the fun comes from not being forced into a specific play style to handle a situation. In the last couple of games, there was a mechanic where you needed to clear out enemy bases. You could go in guns blazing on the back of an elephant literally stomping everything to death, or you could sneak into the base and stealth kill everybody. There wasn't a right or wrong way. The big complaint i'm seeing from early reviews is that it doesn't do much to advance the mechanics of 3 and 4, but to be honest i love those games so i wouldn't be too disappointed in that.

$50 a year for 24-40 or so free games, plus the back catalog of free games is still a great deal.bune wrote:Which is a PITA because I don't want to play online but I have to pay for it to play the games.CopperTom wrote:You have to download it now, but you can play it forever, provided you continue to pay for PS+.i got bugs wrote:Wait, so you can just dl R&C for free??

You can also attempt to be sneaky, then die in a hellfire of bullets/arrows/elephants/tigers/bald eagles like I do most of the time.mf wrote:yeah that seems about right.Monkey_Driven wrote:Kind of like an Assassin's Creed game that's actually fun mixed with an FPS and GTA.CopperTom wrote:Is there a more comparable game so I know what to expect?Monkey_Driven wrote:Sort of? Edit: It will be worth it once you get a PS4. Have you played Velocity 2X on the Vita? That game is the bee's knees.bune wrote:Sad trombone music: I only have a vita at the moment.Monkey_Driven wrote:$50 a year for 24-40 or so free games, plus the back catalog of free games is still a great deal.bune wrote:Which is a PITA because I don't want to play online but I have to pay for it to play the games.CopperTom wrote:You have to download it now, but you can play it forever, provided you continue to pay for PS+.i got bugs wrote:Wait, so you can just dl R&C for free??

I'm going to get Far Cry when it comes out. Looking ahead to the rest of 2018, for me It's God of War, Red Dead and not much else.

I'm sure there will be a smattering of other quality titles. Like Smash.CopperTom wrote:I'm going to get Far Cry when it comes out. Looking ahead to the rest of 2018, for me It's God of War, Red Dead and not much else.

I don't play fighting games. I'm very optimistic about 2019, however. The Last of Us 2, probably the other, non-BoW sequel, maybe the rumored since 2011 2D Zelda, Halo, Borderlands, Tomb Raider, GTA.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm sure there will be a smattering of other quality titles. Re: The all inclusive video game thread
I don't really consider Smash a fighting game, but I get that. It's also perfect for a portable console. I'm prepared to be disappointed by Last of Us 2 since the original is one of my favorite games of all time. Honestly, they could just update the multiplayer with a bunch of new maps and I would probably be happy though.CopperTom wrote:I don't play fighting games. I'm very optimistic about 2019, however. Re: The all inclusive video game thread
Got some very similar tastes on here. For me (in 2018), looking forward to God of War, Spider Man, and most definitely Red Dead 2 (god please don't let me down, I've been waiting for 8 years). In 2019, looking forward to next Tomb Raider, Ghost of Tsushima, maybe the next Mortal Kombat game, and most of all Last of Us Part 2. Agree, first Last of Us was an absolutely masterpiece and expectations are already unfairly high for part 2. Can't remember the last time I actually cared about characters in a video game like I did with that one. There's probably a few I'm overlooking....

If they port Mario Maker to the Switch that will go towards the top of the list too.

I forgot about Spider-Man. I'll wait for reviews for that one though.

I don't remember the last time I bought a new videogame. This medium is being wasted.
