Do the Evolution from LO2L always felt like the definitive version to me. You can't beat that scream at the end.

Or the scream at the beginning. Or the guitar solo. I think it is absolutely the definitive version. And I feel as if I'd know because DTE is my favorite PJ song and I've scoured the official boots looking for a better version than the LO2L version. Haven't come across one that's even close.

The East Troy and London "Hail Hail" are both pretty lousy. How did those wind up on the list? I can think of half a dozen better versions from 2000 alone.

"Smile" must be from Barcelona. There is no option.

I think I might have screwed up the columns on my overall spreadsheet so ignore those - it's definitely a showdown between Letterman and LO2L.

Interesting perspective - I have enjoyed IMT versions this decade too (the slow 2003-2006 version is thankfully now dead and buried).

As for lyrics, I don't think Ed has sung this site's URL in 20 years. Berlin 96 does have lyrics errors but Melbourne 1998 is pretty spot on, except for this:

Ed slips in a tribute to the late Michael Hutchence (of INXS) during ‘In My Tree’ (“I’m so high I hold just one breath, give it to INXS, just like my innocence”).

Plus JACK FUCKING IRONS (I do really love Matt's 2000-era drumming on this though).
