Initial thought was it can't be worse. Yeesh.
So you think Lightning Bolt is the worst Pearl Jam album?
A. Yes, by a lot
B. If this track was on LB, it would be in the bottom tier

Anders made this post in another thread, but it got me thinking. What if 3 tracks on the new album are:
Let it Ride
Of the Earth
Cold Confession
3 songs we've already heard. I could see them doing that at this point.

You guys should rank the songs in the Rank The Backspacer and Lightning Bolt songs thread. So far Lightning Bolt has a better average.

Would be cool if they worked on them, and redid them in the studio. Unless it was a Lost Dogs compilation.

2018 Pearl Jam would absolutely butcher Cold Confession and Let it Ride.

Yep. And those two are better than anything from the last two albums.

They’d be top 5 if Avocado was included.

It’s early to judge this song or what could be on the album. Things change in time, songs grow on you.
This song doesn’t punch me in the face as great like Grievance did, but it’s a good song. I think it’s different from MYM, has more of a groove.
For all you Ed haters out there who hate this song and it’s lyrics you can blame Jeff and Mike.

Yellow Moon, Infallible, Pendulum, Lightning Bolt and Mind Your Manners are fairly popular LB songs.

"Eddie wrote the song's lyrics set to music written by Mike."

I think I'll still blame Ed.

It's like a Streets of Rage sequel for the Sega Genesis
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

It screams "old men trying to be cool/relevant/punk".
Come on guys, be real. Just put a pic of your favorite couch on the cover.
