Oh, I hope it's clear that there are no hard feelings. I know you're just giving me a hard time and I was doing the same. I'm not offended or angry at all. I really will listen to it again, though. People seem to really dig it, so it's time to revisit.

Re: Lost Dogs Pre-Tournament Elimination Round 2
Yeah, that's a pretty little song. I think the reason it doesn't grab and stick, for me, is the lack of lyrics. The melody feels unfinished, too. And when there other songs that are similar (and to my mind, far superior) like Angel out there, this just kinda fell through the cracks.
I did enjoy it, though. I wonder if I wouldn't like it more with A) complete lyrics or B) no vocal at all. But I can totally see why it moves some you guys and gals. It's certainly better than some of the other demos and/or unfinished stuff that is in this tournament. But it's nothing that would or should advance and compete with the very best of Peal Jam.

I think part of the reason I love it is because it feels improvised in the moment. I know that’s not likely the case, but it totally just feels like this perfect little 3 minute moment of simple creative beauty. Ed isn’t trying too hard or doing anything stupid with his voice, he’s just effortlessly singing a lovely melody that the guitar beckons.

Oh yeah, I can totally hear that. In fact, thinking of it as a moment captured helps me like the song more. Even if that's not the case, I'll just pretend it's a little quiet improvised moment. I like that a lot.PHATJ wrote:I think part of the reason I love it is because it feels improvised in the moment. Hitchiker - Easy
In the Moonlight - Easy
Other Side - Easy
Footsteps - don't mind voting against it
Let Me Sleep - weakest of the songs I like
Once we hit the main tournament this will start to get rough

Picked Last Kiss and Leavin Here instead. Don't hate either one, but Other Side and Footsteps are both great.
