I know. That's why I said to tell your library. It is an academic publisher, and in their first round they are primarily selling to libraries and institutions, hence the ridiculous price tag. if it sells okay they then release it as a paperback or a cheaper hardcover.
Had I know what they were going to charge for it I would not have signed with that publisher, most likely (they were otherwise fine). But 'what will you be selling it for' was not something that even occurred to me to ask when I signed the contract.
if it makes you feel better, I don't receive any money from it yet

I would be happier to pay it if you did! Don't worry, I know the publisher has to make their money firststip wrote:I know. That's why I said to tell your library. I used the word 'proletariat'. The Mynabirds would fucking love me for that.

stip, no offense, but I'm probably never buying your book. Paperback or otherwise. Just not really into the New Deal right now.

Stip, keeping listening. If you like it now after only one half of a listen, I guarantee you you will love it after four or five full spins.

I listened to both of their albums all the way through today. Three times for the first, twice for the second.
