Not really sure why, but I hate this song. Definitely in my bottom 5.

I'm guessing by "RM" you mean "RVM," in which case I wholeheartedly agree. Live versions definitely lack the same cathartic bite for lack of it.

Oops, yes that's exactly what I mean. Bloody abbreviations. I'm tired.

The way they thrash around on the chords live, while totally ignoring the beautiful arpeggios on the choruses and the wailing lead part in the outro, really pisses me off.

Yeah, Dissident would feel right at home alongside songs like Do You Feel Loved, Mofo, Gone, and Please.

Its the middle of the road sound you were fearing PJ might embrace back then. Luckily, they took another route.

Dissident is massively underrated by RM. Absolute classic PJ.

This song will always be associated with the Atlanta 94 show for me. It was a lot of fun collecting those singles. I've still got the box set. I gave it 4 stars. I worked with a guy who wasn't a PJ fan, but used to sing this song a lot and tried to get me to play Vs. when we worked together. He would do this whole bit with the lyrics. Hand motions and everything. It was very theatrical and quite hilarious. Good times, good times..
