I’d be shocked if anything substantial happens in the near future, but there are a lot of reasons this is impactful. But as much as anything else, this is a consequence of gun rights organizations and figureheads becoming more combative, trying intimidation and deception tactics, and tying themselves to other causes (ie this administration, zero legislation, and white nationalist groups) that suffer a severe popularity gap among both young people and other key growing voting groups.
It would honestly take very little for gun rights advocates to reform their image and create a seat at the table for themselves. They’d rather put Dana on tv talking shit, and trot out arguments that are barely clever enough for a truck stop bumper sticker display.
