While the number of guns has gone up, in that time where gun violence dropped by 50%, the number of people who own guns nationwide actually dropped by 20%. It’s almost like fewer people with guns equaled fewer violent acts.

Rogue, mentally ill, psychopaths are following each other’s lead in these shootings. They are inspired by evil and are internally motivated to kill. They are also such a minute percentage of the population that stripping the rights of the peaceful masses in order to (ineffectivly) attempt to stop these killers is nothing more than political posturing. Imagine that, the states with the most guns, have the most gun deaths. How are you even debating this?
Japan, in 2015 I believe? had under 10 crimes committed where a gun was fired. Guess who doesn't have a lot of guns, Japan. Every country that has enacted strict gun laws has not only saw gun related crime decrease, but suicide decreased. Every other country that has enacted strict gun laws, is laughing at the stupidity that is the NRA, and anyone that is blinding following them.

I just heard some meathead on the radio say it was his god-given right to defend himself and his god-given right to have a gun and nobody’s going to take something away from him that god says it’s his right to have.

But as much as anything else, this is a consequence of gun rights organizations and figureheads becoming more combative, trying intimidation and deception tactics, and tying themselves to other causes (ie this administration, zero legislation, and white nationalist groups) that suffer a severe popularity gap among both young people and other key growing voting groups.

It would honestly take very little for gun rights advocates to reform their image and create a seat at the table for themselves. They’d rather put Dana on tv talking shit, and trot out arguments that are barely clever enough for a truck stop bumper sticker display.

People pushing anti-gun laws often fail to mention the actual perpetrators, or ideas of how to dissuade young disaffected men from committing these atrocities. This is the generation that pushes mental and emotional disorders as serious issues while simultaneously ignoring them. This is the generation of zero responsibility. I've never in my life seen such a self-absorbed and seriously ill-informed group of youth, and I'm not much older then them.

The smallest holes often sink the biggest ships. With social media, small groups are able to speak the loudest. It blows my mind.
