wow I'm shocked how low Unthought Known is. That would be really high for me.

1 Pendulum
2 Yellow Moon
3 Lightning Bolt
4 Mind Your Manners
5 Unthought Known
6 Just Breathe
7 Amongst the Waves
8 Sirens
9 Getaway
10 The Fixer
11 Got Some
12 Force of Nature
13 Speed of Sound
14 The End
15 Supersonic
16 Infallible
17 Swallowed Whole
18 Future Days
19 Sleeping by Myself
20 My Father's Son
21 Gonna See My Friend
22 Johnny Guitar
23 Let the Records Play

A lot of that middle section is very interchangeable for me.

I quite like the top few (despite the cheese of Unthought Known or Sirens), can tolerate the middle few (but would rarely seek them out), and actively dislike/skip the bottom few.

There really is nothing there that stands up well against their early-mid period output though. Quite depressing really.

The best thing about listening to Backspacer and Lightning Bolt is how great these songs sound in comparison to the down-tuned mess most of them have become when played live.

My fave 3 bs songs are Force of Nature, GSMF, and the SOS demo. I think I’ve seen them 18 times since the album came out. I’ve seen none of them live.

My fave 3 on LB are Getaway, Yellow Moon, and LTRP (I like it, fuck you), and I’ve seen none of them live.

Fuck. This. Band.

Isn't that what an Ed Ved solo show would be?

I'm not convinced anyone's actually ever been to an Ed solo show.

On the plus side, here are some songs not off these two albums I’ve caught for the first (and sometimes second and third) time at those shows: Brother, Smile, In My Tree, Satan’s Bed, Alone, Let Me Sleep, Bugs, Hold On, All or None, No Way, Sonic Reducer, Breath, Black, Red, and Yellow, Bugs, Help, help, Oceans, Real Me, Of the Earth, Bee Girl, Chloe/crown, Red Mosquito, In the Moonlght, Dead Man, Don’t Gimme No Lip...I guess that’s a better list than my unseen bs/lb list.
