Searching pornhub for “Ivanka” and “Black Panther” is disappointing

The real movie; I'm saving the porn spin-off for tonight :comp:

It was better than I expected to be honest, but it's far from the best Marvel movie. I can think of at least 5 marvel flicks within the last 4 years that I enjoyed more, but overall it exceeded my expectations. Definitely not deserving of all the exemplary critical accolades IMO, but I'd certainly watch it again. I enjoyed Boseman's performance way more than Jordan's. The visuals were WAY better on screen than the trailers. When it comes to CGI, Marvel makes DC look like a goddamn cartoon.

It's in my upper half for sure, and it's got more thematic depth than any Marvel movie by a wide margin, but I agree that it isn't one of absolute favorites. But I also understand why this one got the critical accolades that it did, and I won't disagree with them.

I saw Guardians 2 again last night. That's held up really well. The Ravager funeral is pretty moving

I've had a copy of this sitting around for a while now, but still can't muster the motivation to watch it

I want more of that from Marvel, not less. That is how you end up with worthless shit like Ragnarok

Ragnarok was great though. Can't say I wouldn't like more serious movies though - just as long as they stay away from whatever it was that made Dr Strange so dull

It was a nice break from the recent glut of comic book movies being so self-important. Still haven't seen this, but on the surface it appears much more interesting than infinity wars.

i think the problem i have is that the "bad" guys were right; wakanda shouldn't be so insular from the issues of the outside world. but, since it's a superhero/action movie, the feeling is always that there needs to be the same old good vs bad dynamic, so they go to great strides to portray the baddie as a psychopath instead of a well meaning radical, because otherwise BP looks like a selfish, ignorant asshole in comparison. BP learns his valuable lesson in the end, and even takes the dying baddie out to see the wakandan view to signal that hey, he's not so bad!

there's just a more interesting way this story could've been told, that also doesn't portray the cause of disenfranchised minorities as the bad guy motive. maybe this landmark movie is actually pretty darn racist after all.
