We have 2 boys (8 and almost 11). My wife’s sisters live near, so we help each other as occasional sitters. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve paid for a sitter. We’re just focused. We spend our money on our mortgage (done this October!) and travel. Those are our priorities. I go to maybe 6 or 7 concerts a year. Most are 10 minutes away. Half are $10 shows.

I don’t really ever go to bars to drink, but I do love breweries, and I’m a foodie so we dine out at good restaurants a lot. So that’s where most of my expendable income goes. But I’m very conscious of staying as debt free as possible. And I’ve never paid a late fee or one cent of interest on a credit card.

Yep, just under two hours because I live in the northern suburbs. It’s perfect. My kids would hate a 3.5 hour drive but they handle two hours really well.
