Ah, bummer. Hopefully a few more ‘98 vault shows surface someday, particularly one with No Way.Birds in Hell wrote:Only audience recordings.darth_vedder wrote:Are there any ‘98 versions of No Way?

No Way has never been very good live.

I'm praying for a Pacific 1998 show (anything besides Melbourne 1998-03-05 obviously). Unfortunately they didn't play No Way until the US tour with Matt. The only time No Way with Jack was captured is a short clip on Single Video Theory.darth_vedder wrote:Ah, bummer. I like that Low Light from Halifax, but have no issue with the Benaroya version either. Big no on the Wrigley version, though.

This doesn't sound bad (performance, not actual sound):Monkey_Driven wrote:Nope, probably why they rarely play it.cutuphalfdead wrote:No Way has never been very good live.

I want a vault release of that show just so we can get a high quality recording of No Way from before the band started to suck.

This raises a good point. On the one hand, Untitled is undoubtedly linked to MFC as an intro, and I've always kind of considered it a stand-in for Red dot.ducko wrote: Untitled

I don't believe this should be in the main mix as it wasn't on the original album. Perhaps a B-side list? The Lo2L version is the one for me.
But on the other it was not part of Yield, and so could be considered a B-side to put at the end with Leatherman and U.
I think if I end up choosing Untitled and MFC from the same show they should probably go together, but even if I don't I could easily make them sound nice next to each other with some quick fades (so that they also serve as standalone tracks).
Thoughts?...

I love them together, but it's not a strong opinion. Untitled by itself at the end (or leading into Leatherman) would feel odd, though.ridleybradout wrote:This raises a good point. I think you should link them if possible. It's the live stand in for Red Dot.ridleybradout wrote:This raises a good point. On the one hand, Untitled is undoubtedly linked to MFC as an intro, and I've always kind of considered it a stand-in for Red dot.ducko wrote: Untitled

Also, if you can use L2L Untitled into Melbourne 98 MFC that would be best.

Yeah, definitely in favour of linking them - it's how they're presented live most of the time (all of the time for Untitled).

Have a listen to Pilate from San Diego 2000 guys.
It sounds a lot more confident than the two best Europe 2000 versions (Prague and Cardiff), plus it sounds better in comparison with Jeff turned up.
It has a minor lyrical error (drawing in, drawing circles down), but Prague has the same error and Cardiff has a different one (walking up the south marking ground)...

Now that might be difficult.cutuphalfdead wrote: Also, if you can use L2L Untitled into Melbourne 98 MFC that would be best.
I'm not sure about the Melb 98 MFC - sure it's got Jack, but Ed mangles the first word and Stone's effects in the intro are a bit annoying...
Anyone else besides Chud think this should be chosen over the almighty Camden 2000-09-01 version?

Halifax is pretty great, though Jeff's voice is a bit too loud for my liking.mray10 wrote:I like that Low Light from Halifax, but have no issue with the Benaroya version either. Big no on the Wrigley version, though.
Benaroya feels a bit slow and flat to me - not sure.
Columbia 2016-04-21 is actually really good - pretty much flawless musically and vocally, no "fucking calm", and a quieter Jeff
Actually, Bern 2006-09-13 might be the happy medium between earlier and later versions.
