I’d imagine the hits from Joshua tree would own the corner on this, no?
Probably "With or Without You"

Off topic but it’s weird to me that u2 is such a far bigger part of American culture the past 30 years than Ireland’s. They’re reviled here in the same you’ll only ever hear the complainers not the lovers (hello the last Jedi) but in terms of functioning and successful act, consistently well received, America is their home more than anywhere else. They are loved here too but the level of bitterness and loathing they face is at its most caustic and corrosive in Ireland before and ahead of anywhere else.

Maybe its proximity? I often see people online complaining about being sick of Bono's face and always hearing from Bono and I think to myself I probably see a Bono interview every 3 or 4 years how can you get sick of that? I guess he's more active over there?

These 2 definitely. "Beautiful Day" would be up there too. Ridiculously overplayed song for a few years.

You have Elevation there...it was as big as that song...you dont remember because you are younger but it was a huge song.

fuck, its such a good song by the way.
I don’t think that’s it since I heard older U2 songs all the time. It just wasn’t as big in the US.
Hold Me Thrill Me got a lot of airplay in Boston. But Boston was always a very pro-U2 radio market.
104.1 in CT played it hourly the summer it came out.

My local radio station plays about 5 U2 songs per hour.

Over here One Tree Hill would probably be their most recognized song

Dont act like you dont hear a daily u2 song on the radio at the store, in passing at some place, or somewhere else.

Youve listened to the radio whether you know it or not.

Which is why the new PPM method of measuring listenership is so fucking flawed.

Do stores even use radio anymore? Seems like most of them have their own dedicated music selections these days.
