Especially that "Holding for General Hux" shit at the beginning. Just awful.
Does it make you feel better to know he's calling him "General Hugs?"

That scene is horrendous
Everything from the opening crawl to the cut to Luke & Rey is the most Star Wars a Star War has Stat Warsed since the very first Star Wars.

It’s a great opening sequence. Very very very Star Wars. And the guy Captain Cannady was awesome and badass. He raises the whole thing.

Johnson on his new trilogy “It’s fun because it’s kind of thinking, ‘Okay, outside of the Skywalker story and outside of the recognizable iconography, what is this? What is “Star Wars?”‘ Or what do we need to retain from that, to pull forward for it to still be ‘Star Wars’ — and what can we leave behind?” Johnson explained.

“They’re all the big questions that need to be thought of. And even the ones that we don’t know the answers to are things we need to figure out if ‘Star Wars’ is going to be vital and alive moving forward and not just be a waxworks. We’re going to have to figure out how to tell vital new stories.”

The topic of Episode VIII deleted scenes/BTS footage was also approached in the article and if you are a fan of this type of material (face it, who isn’t?), Johnson and Bergman are looking into possibly releasing more of this Episode VIII content via the form of a miniseries.

Even more behind the scenes footage has yet to be seen, Bergman says, and the filmmakers hope to eventually release additional material — possibly in miniseries form.

Johnson has already stated his desire to release all of his personal BTS photos taken during the production of The Last Jedi in book format. Combine the deleted scenes/BTS footage we already got with the Blu-ray release of the film with this additional new content mentioned by Bergman and Johnson’s photo book, and we’ll be looking at the most comprehensive collection of BTS material available for any Star Wars film.

I really like their idea that Kylo and Rey should have just said screw the whole good and evil thing and killing Kylo's mother thing and go off and build dams throughout the universe. That would have been interesting.

This is interesting...because its actually true. Where is the main thing outside the Skywalker saga that makes this movies a SW movies and not anything else? Its going to be tough for him.

I hope he goes further into the future and not tell a jedi thing story.

Yeah, possibly way, way in the past, like origins of force use?

Oh dear. Simon pegg just set fire to the Internet by saying JJ definitely had Reys parentage on the table and TLJ went away from it.

That’s the end of that friendship.

I was hoping for this. The idea seemed to stem from lots of backstory he’d written for Ahch to apparently.
