Where The Streets Have No Name / The U2 Thread

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

I dunno. SOI doesn't flow very well but has great songs. SOE is my favorite top to bottom U2 album since Pop, despite a couple of clunkers.

The Lights of Home string remix alone has more energy and artistry than the last 10 years of PJ's work.

Both of the last two have good songs. The latest one have less ones...maybe two? dont remember.

But No Line was superb. They still got it, they need to just relax and release an album without trying to make it a hit.

No Line starts and ends strong but the middle third makes it impossible for me to listen to as an album. Moment of Surrender is great...

No Line was over 9 years ago and was only half good with some real low points. Stand Up Comedy is among the worst things they've ever recorded.

I really can't see any flaws in the idea that the last two U2 were better than the last two PJ.

No Line on the Horizon is pretty solid but it's too long and "Fez - Being Born" > "White as Snow" > "Breathe" is just death. I like this tracking better:

1. Cedars of Lebanon
2. Get on Your Boots
3. Magnificent
4. Stand Up Comedy
5. Moment of Surrender
6. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
7. No Line on the Horizon
8. Unknown Caller

They're re issuing Pop on vinyl. The last great U2 album

I love Pop, but I’d argue that it isn’t U2’s last great album. I think ATYCLB and Atomic Bomb are both pretty great.

That song during the ZooTV tour was as good as it gets.
