PJ pulled the plug on a joint tour with GnR & U2
...according to this report, anyway:
http://www.nme.com/news/music/joint-tou ... u2-2280026
Would they still say 'no' to the same touring line-up in 2018, though....

Yes, I believe they would. I am sure a lot of it has to do with Guns n Roses. They have a very long history of flaking on shows, starting whenever they feel like it, and tons of erratic behavior on tour. I don’t see that as something Pearl Jam wants to get involved in.
I do think Pearl Jam would volunteer to open for U2 again.

I think I heard a brief snippet from Kim Thayil on Sirius once where he said his favorite tour was Lollapalooza '92 and his least favorite was touring with GnR and "lets just leave it at that."
Cornell also I think said that Duff and Slash were great guys that just wanted to play but for some reason (Axl), alot of times they weren't able to do that.
Not sure what time frame Soundgarden opened for them, but Kelly Curtis would likely have intimate knowledge of the pitfalls of being on tour with GnR from the SG guys I would think.

I don’t think I’ve ever gone to see an opener and bounced before the headliner.liebzz wrote:

I've done that a few times. Mostly for The Mynabirds.

Re: PJ pulled the plug on a joint tour with GnR & U2
What pj were trying to create around this time....no chance they would tour with GnR then.
The only connection would be Duff and thats the only reason i can imagine it would even be floated to PJ then.
U2 would be up for anything but could you imagine Bono and Axl having to share time?
God. Those UYI tours were insane.

I like two songs that I can think of. But yeah, never understand the GnR thing at all.Birds in Hell wrote:Me either.bodysnatcher wrote:I've never liked Guns N Roses
