Bad Religion, Frank Black, Sonic Youth, Supergrass, The Buzzcocks, Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie all just off the top of my head (and just referring to shows I've seen).

I have seen six Ben Harper openers and enjoyed all of them. I remember Merriweather Post in 98 being particularly good. I really liked MMJ as well. I didn't care for Sonic Youth or S-K, to noisy for arena shows.

Neither of those bands do well in large venues, but they are two of the greatest shows I've ever seen in small venues.

I feel like I would be really pissed off if I was forced to see a Ben Harper set.

I'd rather see them ditch the opening acts as well. They've toured with a bunch of awesome bands in the past, but it'd be nice to see them do a tour just by themselves.
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

At the 09 Seattle shows where Eddie was sick the first night and sounded like shit, the Ben Harper set was more enjoyable than the PJ set.

If they added 5-6 more songs to each show (go from ~28 to ~34 avg), this would be OK by me.
