They have to win so the Hawks can completely waste another draft pick.
With so many tanking teams this year I hope the team with the worst odds wins the lottery.
Wolves

What's the pick protection on the Wolves pick traded to the Hawks?

If the Wolves win they lose their pick to the Hawks, if they lose they keep the pick. They do have the Thunder's pick via the Jazz.

I believe the Hawks get their pick if the Wolves make the playoffs.

I saw DRose with a nice game off the bench last game. Sick behind the back assist to KAT for And1. He's ready.

Obviously I'm very biased but I think LeBron should be MVP over Harden. At the very least it should be close but all I keep reading is Harden in a landslide. :shake:

LBJ, Davis, and Harden are all deserving. Give the nod to Harden though since they have so many more wins.

I've always hated the best player on the best team thing. It's so arbitrary. Give AD or LeBron that Rockets team and they'll be every bit as good.

(That's not really directed at you, MD, I get using it as a tiebreaker.)

And wins obviously do matter, but man I'm so much more impressed with what AD and LeBron have done without a ton of help. I got love for Jrue Holiday but still. The best argument I think a person can make against LeBron is that he basically didn't play in January when the team was falling apart all around him. He was trash. And if that costs him the MVP, that's fair. He chose to basically throw his hands up and not play for those 3 weeks or so. That's a shame because he's been staggeringly good the rest of the season.

As an aside, how freaking great is NBA talent these days?? It's pretty amazing how good the best 10-20 guys in this league are right now.

I'm with you 100 percent. I used total wins as a tiebreaker in this case. Subconsciously, I am also giving Harden the nod because he should have won last year. Westbrook might average a triple double this year and not even be top 4 in votes.

I've mentioned it before, but Lebron's MVP issue is that he is graded on an unfair scale.

Yeah, I think there's a lot of that. If Harden won last year, which he probably should have, I think people would be viewing this year differently. But now it's kinda like Harden has been dancing all around the MVP without winning won and now he had another great season AND has the best team. I mean I get it. I'm undoubtedly blinded by my dislike for him and the aesthetics of his game, but at the same time I just don't see this as a runaway like Steph a couple years ago or LeBron in '12-13.

Harden is the MVP this year. You're only debating this as an excuse to fellate yourself to LeBron. Just stop.

They're kind of fun. All NBA teams are a good snapshot of the league that year. I put more weight in those than anything else.
