On a tangential note, have you heard Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips?

I've only seen that once in stores, but I've never bought it. I don't have enough equipment to play it anyway.durdencommatyler wrote:have you heard Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips?

Meh. I wasn't super impressed with that. This seems to be a lot more intentional on the band's part, and as a result some of these songs transition better than on the original albums.surface the north wrote:This is cool. I don't feel like either are intentional, but both seem to do the job when it comes to soundtracks to internet sessions. Paranoid Androoid>Bodysnatchers is great.

We did that in college about a year after the album came out. It was pretty cool, although one of our stereos was a boombox and the other was a discman with mini speakers hooked to itsurface the north wrote:I've only seen that once in stores, but I've never bought it. But I still listen to individual discs from time to time. It's a good listen.

That's what's so cool about that project to me, though. Not only are the musical combinations wide and varied, the production combinations are too!bodysnatcher wrote:We did that in college about a year after the album came out. Exit Music > Weird Fishes is quite the thing, too.surface the north wrote:I don't feel like either are intentional, but both seem to do the job when it comes to soundtracks to internet sessions. Paranoid Androoid>Bodysnatchers is great.

I haven't gotten that far yet, but it's safe to say that each of these transitions is going to wet my whistle.McParadigm wrote:Exit Music > Weird Fishes is quite the thing, too.surface the north wrote:I don't feel like either are intentional, but both seem to do the job when it comes to soundtracks to internet sessions. About a quarter of the way into this thing I tend to forget which songs belong on which album, and these are two albums that I know by heart.

Re: The everyone LOVES radiohead thread!
The In Rainbows-Ok Computer thing is a cool little find, but I highly doubt that it's intentional. Listen to just about any two albums spliced together with a 10-second crossfade between the songs and your mind is going to come up with dozens of reasons as to why it's clearly intentional.

I don't think that anyone would argue with you there.
