I'm watching Alien Resurrection. This is a truly terrible movie. I should have just stopped after Alien3

12 Strong. Pretty good, although a lot of it felt like watching an Army recruitment video

Re: What movies are you watching?
My back is causing my a lot of problems, so I'm off work for a week which sucks. But it means I can watch a bunch of stuff. Any recommendations? I have no specific thoughts, just want some good stuff to watch...
I watched 'Wonder' yesterday. Very sappy, but it was enjoyable I guess. For some reason, I enjoy Owen Wilson more than I think is normal.
I'm going to watch American Sniper, because I didn't even realise I had it on blu-ray. Also got The Last Jedi to watch seeing as I got the blu-ray last week. I'm thinking JFK is due another viewing too.

I just finished The Post.....
Meh, i mean the cast was great and its always a joy watching Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep. It picked up the second half of the movie but I feel it was a little vacant. Missing something. Somewhat cheesy as well. Maybe that is spielberg touch. I dont know.

I saw it on a flight to Europe last month. I enjoyed it. It’s like a 30 for 30 with Shia acting as much as Eminem acted in 8 Mile.Strat wrote:ANyone here see Borg v McEnroe? Looks fun.....

Wow. Cloverfield Paradox is awful.
Why did JJ hand this over to other writers and directors?
After writing that, i see there were other directors and writers for 10 Cloverfield Lane, which I thought was fantastic.

At this point i think jj only ties whatever movie they buy with the original cloverfield. They are grabbing another movies and putting them into the universe of the first one.
A quiet place was almost a cloverfield sequel for example.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Watch Three Billboards. I started it with the assumption that it was based on a true story so imagine my surprise when shit starts going down and no one's getting arrested for it. The writing is probably the place the movie suffered the most. I mean, there were so many things that happened that would have ended in a completely different way in reality.
The performances from Woody and Frances were great, especially the scene when he sneezes/coughs blood. That was just perfect. I was trying so hard to figure out why I hated the advertising guy - even though he was a nice enough fellow - that I had to look him up. How about that.
I really liked the performance from Sam Rockwell up until he read the note. The problem I had then is that he's such a damn dim-bulb and the note basically Flowers-for-Algernon'd him and that was just ridiculous.
And I totally forgot the part where she hoof'd those two kids for throwing the can at her car. That was great.

My wife also thought the movie was based on a true story. She didn't realize it wasn't until the postmortem in the movie theater lobby.

While this is true, all she was going on was hearing at some point that it was based on a true story.Monkey_Driven wrote:Ebbing, MO does not exist team.
