Did you go with the 30 year? Nothing like signing papers that seem like they were taken from a Jetson’s cartoon. 2048? What the fuck?!
Straight cash, homie.

Just kidding. First home. 30 year.

i can't wait to spend sundays at Home Depot!
We took out a $200k 30 year loan 13 years ago this summer. After a couple years of watching the principal barely move, I started paying extra. Then I realized I could go to 15. Kept paying extra. Then realized I could go to 10. This bitch will be paid off this October, and then the whole world can eat my ass before I take bullshit or do anything I don’t want to.
did you keep your 30 year loan and just start making payments like it was 15? or did you restructure it?

Restructured for the 15 and for the 10 after realizing I could handle it by making extra payments on the 30. Wanted to be sure I didn’t get in over my head or feel house poor.

Both. Blinds for practically, curtains for aesthetics. Self install is easy if they are pre cut to your size

Blinds and self install. They're not hard to hang at all if you get them cut to size. I would see what rooms get a lot of sun in the day too.

Decent blinds aren't cheap. Welcome to home ownership. But man they make a big difference

So, tomorrow/this weekend I measure the windows, go to home depot and talk to my local blind professional, get them cut, then install?

It definitely can add up. I had to hang my own. I learned. Lots of trial and error. I had to paint over some holes. We ended up just using curtains in the dining room and living room, but blinds might be important for the bedrooms to block out the sunlight in the morning.
