Spoiler: show
-leaving this movie must be how people felt leaving Empire in the theaters
-I missed a fair bit of dialogue due to people laughing
-Dr. Strange was better here than in his solo movie
-All the Guardians stuff was great
-Once it was explained to me the post credits scene had me really excited
-Josh Brolin did a great job with Thanos
-Thor was fantastic
-Knowing full well that this was part 1 of a 2 part movie I still didn’t expect that ending, or rather, I thought the Avengers would present it
Overall this was a really good movie with excellent villain and ending. from a storytelling/narrative logistics perspective it is incredibly impressive, and a total 10 year love letter to the fans (this movie spends almost no time on exposition) It will be hard to fully rank/appreciate it until

A: I can see it on an imax screen. You can tell you weren’t seeing the full shot
B: I can see it in a quieter theater to hear all the dialogue
C:
Spoiler: show
we see how part IV plays out - when I suspect at least part of the surviving Avengers - mostly the original team - die to bring back the characters who die at 5he end of this

This was actually pretty good.
Pretty sure they're going to ruin some of it with part 2 though

The last 'official' Avengers movie was Age of Ultron, but Captain America: Civil War had pretty much everyone in it and yeah that was the one with the airport fight. Obviously there's been a few standalone films since then.

Infinity bore More like. There’s a great film in there somewhere. It felt twice as long as it’s run time. Needs a good fan edit.

I really enjoyed most of this. Couple of moments it got a little too talky.
Spoiler: show
Likes:
How it started without any buildup. Realizing Korg and Valkarie probably died without even a mention. Loki dying immediately was a huge shock.
Spiderman was fantastic
It was legitimately funny throughout.
Thor was fantastic
Im glad this was mostly made prior to Black Panther's success so that it wasn't just Avengers Wakanda!
A sensible reintroduction of Red Skull
Peter Dinklage as a giant dwarf was fantastic.
Even knowing Spiderman/Black Panther and likely Dr. Strange will all have to come back to life somehow, it still had some emotional weight.
The fact they somehow, at times, made Thanos a sympathetic character.
Drax was funny throughout.
Thanos and Gamora in the Soul Stone (im presuming)
Avoiding the temptation to have EVERYONE get back together.
Rocket was more entertaining than he had been in either Guardians movie.

Dislikes:
The fakeout stabbing of Iron Man
Chris Pratt/Star Lord. At some point he transitioned from likable every man dolt back to season 1 Parks and Rec Douchebag Andy. And not just the thing with ruining the attack on Thanos. Just in general he was generally awful.
Was this a little sweary for a Marvel movie? The language was quite a bit more adult than I recall any of the others being.
They way overplayed the "hulk wont come out" joke
I would have liked a little more Winter Soldier
The weird hologram thing of General Ross.
Im sure ill come up with more.

I actually thought Drax was rather annoying in this. He was funnier in GotG 1 when he was funny because he wasn't getting things. Having him no being funny, just wasn't, funny.
And I agree, for a Marvel/Disney movie they really pushed the language. It would be one thing if it was language because the dire circumstances of the end of the world, but that's not how they used the cursing. Flat out calling someone a D-Bag and A-hole a number of times just seemed like they wanted to swear for the sake of swearing. Especially Dr. Strange, no reason for him to call Tony a D-Bag? or whatever one he called Tony. It just doesn't fit the character.

Overall though, they did a pretty amazing job at balancing so many characters / stories. Giving everyone something somewhat important to do

The message board that I use to gauge movies that I'm on the fence about is raving about this goddamn movie. "Best superhero film is The Dark Knight!" "It's rare a movie with this much hype even meets expectations, this one EXCEEDED them!" "WOW JUST WOW".

:|

Man, I'm gonna hate this movie.

Love it or hate it joe, neither I or you are gonna spend months and months complaining about it repeatedly and Endlessly in a thread dedicated to it.

Let’s hope those people have grown up even a little bit.
